What we did in Bulgaria for two weeks: The Voodata (stream)

Several times a child would come up to see what we were doing in the stream, then watch, then beg their parent to play in the stream also.

Parents would always explain to the child that they didn't want them wet and dirty.

Not one time, did we see a child other than ours, actually IN nature. Children would play on the playgrounds, ride bicycles or walk the paths. There were many dirt trails and lovely scenery, clean streams. But the children were to stay on the paved paths. It was a shame to see children hunger for the experience our children were having, yet never allowed to satisfy that hunger.
