Ellie doesn't walk, by the way. She only walks a few steps with support. Soon, she was scooped up by this lovely social worker and into the building. The social worker helping Ellie in this photo, was such a neat woman. She was clearly overjoyed about Ellie's adoption into our family. She expressed this very much on my first trip and on our pick up trip!
The woman in the skirt was Ellie's foster "Baba" (grandmother). She loved Ellie and was very emotional.
When Ellie came into the room, she was very ready to play. She totally remembered me and was excited to meet her Daddy and brother!
Ellie in Daddy's arms at last!
Andrew was so confident and carefree on the entire trip.He and Ellie hit it off quickly and had a lot of fun!
Ellie in Mommy's arms again. This time, forever!
Ellie playing with Daddy and Andrew. We all played and played. I'm really surprised how much time they gave us. Pick up trips are often rushed. This was all laid back. Below, Andrew was having a great time in the sensory/therapy room!
Bittersweet is truly the description of this photo. This is when we were parting. John, Andrew, and I were about to go on our adventure with our sweet daughter. And Baba was about to go home without her foster child, Elllie, whom she had cared for and built an attachment with, for a year.
